WHY THINK TRAIN DEFEND?
Because carrying a firearm is about far more than shooting one.
Owning a firearm is easy.
Carrying one responsibly is harder.
Knowing when not to use it is harder still.
At Think Train Defend, I believe responsible armed citizens deserve training that goes beyond marksmanship. While learning to shoot accurately is important, it is only one part of becoming a capable protector.
Real preparedness begins long before the first shot is fired. It starts with awareness. Judgment. Decision-making. Leadership. The ability to remain calm under stress and make good choices when seconds matter.
That’s what I teach.
Training for Ordinary People
I am not former Special Operations.
I wasn’t a SWAT officer.
I don’t pretend to be something I’m not.
I’m an Army veteran, a husband, a father, a grandfather, and an executive who has spent a lifetime leading people through difficult situations. Like many of my students, I balance work, family, and everyday responsibilities.
I’ve invested hundreds of hours training with some of the finest firearms instructors in the country because I believe ordinary people deserve extraordinary instruction.
My mission is simple:
Help ordinary people become confident, capable, and responsible protectors of themselves and the people they love.
More Than Marksmanship
Anyone can teach you how to hit a target.
My goal is to help you answer much harder questions.
Can you recognize danger before it becomes violence?
Can you make sound decisions under stress?
Can you move instead of freezing?
Can you communicate with your family?
Can you avoid unnecessary conflict?
Can you understand the legal and moral responsibilities that come with carrying a firearm?
These are the skills that often matter long before accuracy ever becomes important.
Confidence Through Competence
Confidence isn’t something I hand out.
It is earned through preparation.
Every class is designed to build confidence one skill at a time. Whether you’re handling a firearm for the first time or you’ve carried for years, you’ll be challenged appropriately, coached patiently, and treated with respect.
There is no ego here.
No intimidation.
No “tactical” theater. Just practical training built around real people living real lives
A Lifelong Student
One of the promises I make to every student is that I will never stop learning.
I continue to train with nationally respected instructors because I believe my students deserve the benefit of everything I learn. Every class I attend, every lesson I absorb, and every mistake I make as a student ultimately makes me a better instructor.
If I ask my students to invest in themselves, I have an obligation to do the same.
Think Train Defend
Those three words are more than a company name.
Think. Develop the judgment to recognize danger, solve problems, and make sound decisions.
Train. Build the skills and confidence that only deliberate practice can provide.
Defend. Protect yourself and those you love—physically, legally, morally, and ethically.
The goal isn’t to create better shooters.
The goal is to create better protectors.
If that’s the kind of training you’re looking for, I’d be honored to earn your trust.
